I own an older Belkin cooling pad. My husband wanted one so I ordered this one, the only one available now. It is so loud that I am returning it. It is not useable. My old one is so quiet you cannot even hear it.

Loud... Fan broke after about 6 weeks.

Not for continued usage or extended usage. After about a year, I began to notice how loudly the fan is above the sound of my HP. Every so often, even after keeping it cleaned (compressed air), it makes so much noise that it's pointless to use it.
Best use is on table, not on your lap.
The lowest level (height adjustment) is really obsolete, but the other heights are great!
The fan location stinks and I have to place my laptop off center in order to allow other areas to be cooled.

This pad cooled very well, but the stand broke after only 6 months of use. It does not seem that this product was designed to be used on the go. The whole pad is curved, which is great for keeping a laptop cool, but it doesn't fold flat enough to fit well in a laptop bag.
